Lumen Christi Cathedral Gala

June 18, 2024 – White’s of Westport

The first stones of our much-loved Cathedral were laid more than 165 years ago. In that time, it has served as a parish and since 1904 as our Cathedral. St. Mary’s is the Mother church of our diocese, as well as the seat of our Bishop, and the spiritual home where our diocesan liturgies take place.

First having welcomed faithful parishioners to worship in 1856 as a parish church, the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption has served as the center of our Diocese since 1904 – the very beginning of the ‘new’ Diocese of Fall River. Join us for a night in celebration of our Mother church and help Lumen Christi – the Light of Christ – continue to shine forth from the Cathedral and bless our Diocese and all of the faithful within it. This year’s 3rd annual Lumen Christi Cathedral Gala is a time to celebrate not only the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, but also the Diocese of Fall River—marking its 120th anniversary.

All proceeds from this event will support repairs and renovations that will help us shine the light of our beloved Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption for years to come.
