{"id":603,"date":"2019-05-14T09:26:43","date_gmt":"2019-05-14T13:26:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.catholicfoundationsema.org\/?p=603"},"modified":"2024-02-02T17:36:17","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T17:36:17","slug":"tony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.catholicfoundationsema.org\/es\/2019\/05\/14\/tony\/","title":{"rendered":"Pastoral Ministry to the Sick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1047\" src=\"https:\/\/www.catholicfoundationsema.org\/app\/uploads\/Fall-River-2021-ACA-Logo-Only-RGB-72dpi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"231\" \/><\/em><\/strong>A U.S. Army veteran and a Franciscan, Deacon Tony Cipriano provides compassionate support at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA to patients and families, without exception, at some of the most difficult moments of their lives. \u201cIf we didn\u2019t have chaplains in the hospitals, the pain and suffering that people experience is so great, they would have absolutely no one to turn to,\u201d said Deacon Tony.<\/p>\n<p>Each day at hospitals throughout the Diocese of Fall River, our chaplains and religious are making a difference for those who are in pain, sick, and suffering in the form of visits, distribution of Communion, and administration of the Sacrament of the Sick.<\/p>\n<p>According to Deacon Tony, simply being by a patient\u2019s side can make a tremendous difference. \u201cThat\u2019s the reward God gave me,\u201d he said. \u201cThat opportunity to say now\u2019s your time to serve. Be there. You don\u2019t even have to say anything. Just be there with that person in that moment.
