Board of Directors
Who Serves?
The Catholic Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts has established by-laws that stipulate that the corporation has five Members who shall be the Bishop, two Chancery clergy/lay-staff leaders of his choice, the Chair of the Board and Treasurer of the Board. The Board will ultimately recruit up to 21 Directors.
The Directors will include clergy and lay members from within the geographic boundaries of the Diocese. As of October, 2018, five individuals have joined the Board. Mr. Patrick Carney and Mr. Nick Christ, are serving as Founding Co-Chairs. Rev. Marcel Bouchard has just begun his service as Spiritual Advisor to the Board, and Mr. George Agostini and Mr. Bob Long have both offered a “yes” to help build this new ministry, in service to our Church!
We will think of these pioneering Directors as “spiritual entrepreneurs,” people of FAITH with a mind for business and a heart for the Lord. Their time of service is intersecting with a historic moment in our life together as they will help shape the work and witness of the Church in Southeastern Massachusetts, for decades to come. We have abundant gifts, talents and resources that we must harness and share in new ways to help transform our Church. This will be the task of the Foundation Directors. Their leadership and guidance will further stewardship at all levels of parish and diocesan life and their personal commitments will set the standard for generosity among parishioners across the Diocese.
The Founding Directors will be asked to offer a substantial contribution of time, talent and resources, to provide seed money that will help fund the establishment of the Foundation. Ultimately, the willingness of these Directors to serve and give will transcend time and money — with the Foundation’s success measured more so by humility and love of Christ and by the difference we are making in the lives of others.
